NOTICIAS AO MINUTO
Portugal, what a wonderful country. It's full of surprises and I never tire of exploring this fascinating country. I was enamoured by the scenery, the friendly people, the culture, the architecture, as well as the very affordable tasty food and wine.
Being my first trip to Portugal and I have spent 2 weeks exploring places like Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, Porto, Coimbra, Braga and Lagos, and I had a great time and there's no doubt that I will be back to see more.

Depois de em 2014 a Quinta ter lançado para o mercado o Vinho tinto Quinta das Carrafouchas 2009 com uma medalha de ouro no Concurso Mundial de Bruxelas 2012, anunciamos agora com enorme prazer que voltamos a receber o mesmo prémio desta vez atribuído ao tinto 2010. Muito obrigado!

Há anos que ouvimos Neil Diamond — ou, se preferir, o grupo UB40 — cantar uma música dedicada ao vinho tinto, como se o néctar fosse uma espécie de paliativo para a alma. João Paulo Martins, Rodolfo Tristão, Manuel Moreira,Sérgio Antunes e Rui Falcão não cantam (pelo menos profissionalmente), mas devem concordar com a ideia. Todos eles, à sua maneira, dedicam a vida provar e saborear vinhos nacionais e internacionais, pelo que o Observador propôs-lhes um desafio: que cada um escolhesse dois vinhos tintos a menos de 10 euros. Os resultados seguem em baixo, os rótulos pode ver na fotogaleria em cima.
A Quinta das Carrafouchas é o produtor mais próximo de Lisboa. Pouca gente imagina que logo a seguir àquela massa de prédios depois do Loures Shopping há campo e, até, um produtor de vinho.
Seguindo junto ao muro de tom rosado em A-das-Lebres, freguesia de Santo Antão do Tojal, facilmente identificamos um solar da mesma cor que será familiar a quem conhecer os rótulos dos vinhos.

Quinta das Carrafouchas is the closest producer of Lisbon. Few people realize that immediately following that mass of buildings after the Loures Shopping there is room and even a wine producer.
Following with the pinkish wall in A-das-Lebres, Santo Antão do Tojal, easily identified a sun of the same color that will be familiar to those who know the wine labels.

A Quinta é o produtor de vinho mais próximo de Lisboa, estando a cerca de 15 minutos do centro da cidade. A sua construção data de 1714, pensando-se que foi erigida sobre edificações já existentes no local, de épocas anteriores. Aqui viveu, durante largos períodos, o General Junot durante as primeiras invasões francesas.
A vinha está licenciada desde 1932, embora só tenha começado a produzir em 1954. Vendiam-se as uvas ou o vinho a granel e algum vinho, feito de forma tradicional. Por vicissitudes várias o tempo do vinho parou. Retomando a sua elaboração no ano de 2008, nascendo para o mercado o Quinta das Carrafouchas em 2009.
A Quinta reserva o seu direito de lançar no mercado o vinho apenas nos anos em que se atinge os parâmetros de qualidade e perfil que defende.
The farm is the nearest wine producer from Lisbon, being about 15 minutes from the city center. Its construction dates from 1714 and is thought to have been built over the existing buildings on site of earlier times. Here lived for extended periods, the General Junot during the first French invasion. The vineyard is licensed since 1932, although it has only started producing in 1954. Capital do Arinto pronta a receber milhares de visitantes para mais uma Festa do Vinho e das Vindimas.
Durante três dias não vai faltar animação nas ruas de Bucelas, com muita música, gastronomia e, claro, o tradicional desfile etnográfico.

Capital of Arinto ready to receive thousands of visitors to one more Wine Festival and Harvest.
For three days there will be some animation on the streets of Bucelas, with music, food and of course the traditional ethnographic parade.

September is the grape harvest time in Portugal and we had the pleasure to be invited by Quinta das Carrafouchas Vineyard to take part in a traditional grape harvesting and treading. For us, was a unique chance to experience a traditional and authentic collective ritual, as well as learn the ancient techniques of winemaking.
Setembro é o tempo da colheita de uvas em Portugal e tivemos o prazer de ser convidados pela Quinta das Carrafouchas para participar na vidima segundo o metodo tradicional da uva, a colheita e pisando. Para nós, foi uma oportunidade única de experimentar um autêntico e tradicional ritual coletivo, bem como aprender as antigas técnicas de vinificação.
